  1. Apply to Butte College through CCCapply.com it recommended that you use an email address OTHER than your high school email
  2. Complete all sections of the CCC application; as you complete each section of the application the arrow will turn green.
  3. Apply for term “Summer 2023”.
  4. College Enrollment Status is “enrolling in high school (or lower grade) and college at the same time”.
  5. High School Education Status is “will be enrolled in high school (or lower grade) and college at the same time”.
  6. Highest grade you have completed in school is “11th grade”. 
  7. Once you have completed your Butte College application you will receive a confirmation email from CCCApply stating your application is complete.
  8. If you applied for the first time you will receive an email from Butte College that contains your Butte College ID number and login information for your MyBC portal.  This email will come in 3 to 5 business days. If you do not receive this email contact Butte College at 530-895-2511, identify yourself as a College Connection applicant and ask for your Butte College ID number (7 digits, all numeric).  Your BC Student ID number is a required for your College Connection Application to be considered complete.
  9. If you are reapplying to the college and do not know your Butte College ID number, contact Butte College at 530-895-2511, identify yourself as a College Connection applicant and ask for your Butte College ID number (7 digits, all numeric).  Write your BC ID# down for future reference.

  • Complete & Submit the College Connection Application by Friday, January 27th 
  • Ask one of your English or History teachers if they will recommend you. You will need to enter their name, course you were enrolled in, and their email address on the application. The recommender can check their email for a message and link from Ms. Krinsky.
  • Ask one of your Math or Science teachers if they will recommend you.  You will need to enter their name, course you were enrolled in, and their email address on the application. The recommender can check their email for a message and link from Ms. Krinsky.
  • A third recommender is optional. If you want a third recommendation, ask the boss/manager/supervisor/teacher/coach/etc (no family or peers) if they will recommend you. You will need to enter their name, course you were enrolled in, and their email address on the application.  The recommender can check their email for a message and link from Ms. Krinsky.
  • Draft, write, edit and revise your personal narrative essay and copy/paste it into the application.  Prompt: In a 300-400 word essay, explain:
    • Why you are applying to College Connection,
    • Why you are a good fit for the program,
    • Experiences that have prepared you to be successful in CC,
    • Characteristics that will support your success,
    • What you would be giving up and gaining if accepted,
    • What you would bring to the College Connection class of 2023. This essay will be evaluated holistically: content, style, length, format, conventions, claim and support.
  • Access the College Connection application HERE.
  • You will recieve a confirmation email from Ms. Krinsky within 24 hours of submitting your application with next steps.

  • Each applicant will receive an email confirming that the College Connection advisor has received the application 
  • Each application will be reviewed for:
    • Completion 
    • Quality
    • Accuracy
  • Teacher recommenders will receive an email with a link to a Google Form-recommendation
  • The parent/guardian will receive an email with a link to a Google Form-parent statement 
  • CC advisor will obtain and evaluate student records: attendance, discipline, and transcript
  • Each applicant will receive a 20 minute interview with the CC advisor; to be scheduled during the school day to take place at Paradise High School
  • All applicants will be notified of their program status (accepted/declined) via email no later than 2/17

Students will participate in a series of orientation trainings and workshops between March and August 2023. These include: an all day training at PHS in early March, a tour of Butte College in May, and a final mandatory meeting in our classroom on the Butte Main Campus on 8/2.  
  • Receive guidance and advising to prepare for your senior year
  • Attend high school and college classes at the Butte College main campus in your senior year
  • Have more independence in designing your academic schedule
  • A new learning environment in your senior year
  • Opportunities to prepare for life after graduation before you graduate
  • Assume more responsibility in a less restrictive academic environment
