Response to Intervention (RtI)-SAFE Program
First Line of Action to Aid Struggling Students
The RtI-SAFE process assesses a student's needs and then seeks to put in place an intervention plan to address those needs.
- The initial referral may come from a teacher, counselor, administrator or parent and is followed up by a student/teacher meeting. The teacher involved is at the request of the student. If you are a parent, please contact your child's counselor to refer them to this program.
- The chosen teacher meets with the student to fill out the form: "Response to Intervention: Student/Teacher Intervention" page 1 & page 2, and to create a plan toward overcoming the student's struggles. This includes: identifying the concerns, developing a plan-of-action, setting a time frame to implement plan, and follow-up by the teacher.
- This form is shared with all the student's teachers & their counselor.
